The role

Reporting to the Head of Learning and Development, you will be a member of the Learning and Development team.

You'll take responsibility for our emerging talent programme as well as developing and delivering many other learning and development interventions for Mills and Reeve. The role requires close liaison with many people, in particular the graduate recruitment co-ordinator, professional support lawyers (PSLs), human resources, marketing, national service line leaders, support service heads, regulatory bodies and external providers. This may suit someone with a background in practicing law who is passionate about development.

The person

Given the responsibilities of this role, it is likely your background will include experience of:

Experience of training and developing others within a fast paced, intellectually rigorous environment (professional service firm experience preferred) Excellent presentation, training and facilitation skills Well-developed personal and project management skills Strong interest and desire to develop self Interested in innovation and new ways to learn The activities

To take responsibility for developing the M&R Emerging Talent Programme. This includes organising how this is run with support from others in the firm and delivery of specific developmental modules. To identify learning and development needs driven by the firm's strategy and by analysis of data gathered from discussions and the internal performance review system. To deliver regular learning interventions to both lawyer and business services cohorts, e.g. lawyer inductions. To support the development of the firm's annual learning and development plans, and continually enhance programmes to meet evolving needs. To deliver development personally, or source and manage external providers where more appropriate e.g. training, facilitation, coaching, blended learning. To develop a blended learning approach including expertise in using a Learning Management System to curate, deliver and evaluate learning. To design and develop or procure best practice resources, e-learning, apps and support to complement traditional classroom learning. To project manage and support the successful delivery of national firm events/initiatives. To develop, manage and evaluate projects that support business improvement initiatives e.g. diversity initiatives, setting up mentoring schemes, externally run collaboration events. Ensure that training records comply with the CPD needs of professional bodies, in particular the SRA and the Bar Council.
