Are you a Registered Nurse who has a passion for nurse education and can offer the right support to our pre-registration student nurses to achieve their goals to become qualified nurses? If your answer is yes, this role is for you. An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Clinical Education Team for a Learning Environment Lead-Nursing. We are looking for someone who can manage student nurse placements and also provide practice supervisor/assessor training. The post holder will provide support to student nurses and placements teams to ensure students have an excellent experience in their practice learning environments. You will need to have a good understanding of student nurse placement management and other issues in relation to nurse education. The post holder will be the key link between practice placements and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to ensure a high-quality pre-registration learning experience for student nurses. The post holder will also work with the other learning environment leads in the Clinical Education team to provide support to placement teams to ensure consistent high-quality placements are provided for students and will lead on the implementation of the Safe Learning Environment Charter. SABP wants to ensure high-quality clinical learning environments are provided through support, educational input, and developmental activities for students and practice-based assessors and supervisors. Main duties of the job

Lead in the planning and management of student nurse placements in partnership with the rest of the clinical education team. Provide a reference point for students’ nurses and others with regards to placement practice. Facilitate and support with the practice assessor/ supervisor training and support forums. Network and establish links with other Clinical Educators and Learning Environment Leads across the system in order to benchmark current practice and aid own and colleagues’ professional development. Work clinically alongside student nurses, assisting them with putting theory into practice, e.g. role modelling/ coaching. Undertake placement assessments/audits in a timely manner and develop processes to respond appropriately to support safe learning environments. Ensure sufficient student nurse placement capacity within SABP balancing the needs of students and the needs of services effectively whilst providing sufficient high-quality learning experiences, including those with special needs. Qualifications

Registered Nurse with NMC registration Degree level qualification or equivalent Mentorship or Practice Assessor or teaching Qualification Experience

Significant post registration qualification and demonstrable experience working in an NHS setting Specialist professional knowledge of mentorship, education, and development of practice Experience of planning, design, and delivery of training programmes Experience of Monitoring standards in Practice Experience of supporting practice-based learning, education audit, and the development of strategies to enhance the learning environment.
