Learning Mentor - Behaviour 5 days per week (37 hours) Term Time Only Grade 5 - £25,584 (pro-rata £21,648) We require a Learning Mentor - Behaviour to work as part of the alternative provision team. The successful candidate will be required to support students both inside and outside of the classroom, helping them overcome barriers to learning and regulating their emotions. Sackville is a popular and oversubscribed large, mixed, 11-18 comprehensive with 1650 students on roll. The vast majority of our students behave exceptionally well and as such, get the most out of their time with us and achieve well. A minority of students needs additional support and intervention to help ensure they achieve our high standards of behaviour and engagement in school. This role will involve working closely with our team of dedicated colleagues from all around the school, playing a vital role in maintaining a calm and purposeful environment and helping to ensure all students achieve. Duties include: Mentoring students. Running workshops and interventions supporting students to regulate their behaviour and make better choices. Supporting colleagues on walkabout, providing a calm learning environment. Escorting students to our turn-around intervention space if their behaviour disrupts others' learning. We are looking for someone who can build strong relationships with students quickly based on honesty, consistency, positive reinforcement, and respect. Strong de-escalation and behaviour management skills are required to facilitate a safe and positive learning environment. Previous experience in youth work or similar roles is desirable.
