Pri/24/297531 Start Date: As soon as possible We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Learning Mentor to complement the work of our staff in addressing the needs of children who require support to overcome barriers to learning. The candidate must be: Calm under pressure Enjoy working as part of a team with a desire to contribute and make a difference Committed to inclusion Have the ability to build effective strong relationships with children and families Be able to develop and implement strategies to remove barriers to learning Be passionate about raising aspirations and helping children reach their full potential Be able to use their initiative and be a flexible team player Have a strong and focused work ethic Committed to learning more about pupils with special needs and how best to support them Support pupils with SEMH (social & emotional mental health) Have the resolve and enthusiasm to make a real difference to the lives of pupils Be committed to an ethos of high expectations and a growth mind-set Have excellent communication skills What we offer: Outstanding learning behaviour from highly motivated pupils who love learning, have high aspirations and always show their MAGIC learning habits Hard working and innovative colleagues that thrive on working collaboratively to ensure that all pupils are effectively included and supported to succeed A vibrant calm learning environment and innovative curriculum A commitment to CPD and training A supportive leadership and staff team and ongoing professional development. You will work together with the Senior Learning Mentor to identify pupils who would benefit from learning mentor support and discuss concerns with teachers and phase leaders. Organising a programme of activities outside the classroom that support the educational and social development of identified pupils, including play therapy. Ensuring the transition from one phase to another is smooth and that pupils receive continuity of support where appropriate.
