36 weeks a year (Term time only) Salary: 20 hours per week, term time = £9,866 per annum 25 hours per week, term time = £12,333 per annum 30 hours per week, term time = £14,799 per annum 35 hours per week, term time = £17,266 per annum As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide direct support for learning to individuals or a small group of learners, over and above that which is normally provided in a standard learning programme. What you will do as a Learning Support Assistant

Support identified named students in a class environment using a range of learning support strategies, together with own knowledge of each student’s needs and preferences, to select and adapt tasks, resources and learning activities so as to engage and motivate students. Communicate effectively with students in order to enable them to understand and participate in learning activities. Use appropriate support strategies for working with groups and/or with individual students to maximise learning opportunities. Support the development of students' language, literacy, and numeracy skills. Qualifications of a Learning Support Assistant

Minimum Level 2 qualification in English and mathematics. If not held, job holder will be required to gain these within an agreed timeframe. Level 2 ICT qualification or equivalent or MOS unit. If not held, job holder will be required to gain this within an agreed timeframe. Up to date working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook. Understanding, appreciation, and experience of Specific Learning Differences, Disabilities and/or Sensory Impairment and the most appropriate learning support methods. Benefits
