Here at Merton College, we are now seeking a Lecturer to teach FE vocational courses related to engineering, predominantly on vocational Level 2/3 and T Level programmes within the school.

The Essential required area of engineering is:

To teach CAD – Computer Aided Design – 2D and 3D.

L3 Required areas are:

Delivery of Engineering Processes Safely as a Team

Dynamic Mechanical Principles in Engineering – (Essential)

Computer Aided Design in Engineering – (Essential).

L2 Required areas are:

Engineering Design

Engineering Materials

Willingness to deliver units at lower levels

You will be responsible for the recruitment, conduct, and progress of all students on these courses in line with College and School policies and procedures and ensuring the provision of high-quality pastoral support.

We're looking for someone who is educated to degree level (or holds a higher-level academic qualification) in an appropriate subject and holds professional industry qualifications and/or experience in a related industrial environment. Delivered training in an engineering environment or taught engineering in an educational setting, you’ll have vast knowledge and experience of CAD – Computer Aided Design – 2D and 3D and mechanical principles.

You’ll hold a teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards one) and have experience teaching BTEC Engineering at level 2/3 and T Level, and participated in recent and relevant CPD with an awareness of academic quality standards. With high personal standards and expectations, you’ll have good planning, preparation, organisational and administrative skills with good attention to detail, and be able to work well under pressure to agreed deadlines.
