The Department of Civil Engineering & Environmental Management, within the School of Computing, Engineering and Built Environment at Glasgow Caledonian University, is a dynamic and vibrant academic community with a strong track record in applied research, innovative teaching, and knowledge transfer activities. The department brings together a highly motivated and exciting team that undertakes research that is rated in the top 20 for the UK in the Built Environment. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational lecturer in waste management, land surveying and/or urban planning to contribute to the continued growth of our department. We are seeking individuals who have a passion and enthusiasm to deliver innovations in learning and teaching and to develop research and knowledge exchange opportunities. The successful candidate will be expected to make a significant contribution to the teaching and research capability of the department, playing a key role in the on-going development of the subject area at both programme and module level including the exploration of novel and emerging areas of construction and the delivery of excellent quality teaching. Applicants should have a postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline and have completed a doctorate or be nearing completion of a doctorate in a relevant subject area. Applicants should ideally have prior academic experience in teaching and learning, and substantial research experience in relevant subject areas. Experience of applied research and a strong personal desire and commitment to engage in innovative teaching and research, grant funding applications and/or consultancy/CPD services are essential. We will, however, also consider individuals with relevant qualifications combined with significant industrial experience who are keen to move into an academic post.
