This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of teaching and research/knowledge exchange in the area of mental health, clinical and counselling psychology at the heart of a dynamic psychology department with a reputation in developing successful, research-led programmes. You will plan, deliver teaching and assess a range of modules across our undergraduate programmes including our new BSc Psychology with Counselling as well as our highly successful and popular MSc in Clinical Applications of Psychology programme. Using a variety of technologies and approaches you will deliver a vibrant education to your students that can be translated into real-world skills and support them in their journey to become critical-thinking professionals. The ability to contribute to teaching and supervision of student research projects in the area of mental health, clinical/counselling psychology is essential. The ability to teach in additional core areas of the BPS curriculum would be an advantage. You will benefit from membership of one or more of our Departmental Research Groups working with colleagues producing high quality internationally excellent research. Due to launching our new BSc Psychology with Counselling and significant growth in student numbers on our MSc in Clinical Applications of Psychology we are seeking three full time lecturers. You will hold or have submitted your PhD/doctorate in the field of psychology with expertise in mental health (e.g. PhD in the area of mental health/clinical psychology, DPsych Clinical/Counselling psychology). On a personal level, going above and beyond to deliver exceptional teaching and support to our students will be your core motivation. You will use your experience of working in Psychology to promote integrated professional practice across everything you do, imparting practical knowledge to students that they will take with them in their future careers. Constantly seeking to improve, you will scrutinise your own work, build internal and external networks, and work collaboratively to enhance the faculty’s reputation in higher education and the wider local community and beyond.
