GBP 43,878 - GBP 55,295 / year Description We are looking for a Senior Lecturer / Lecturer in Sociology (Health and Social Care) to design and deliver academic content in Sociology and associated programmes, particularly our Health and Social Care Management programme in the School of Sciences. A core responsibility in this role is to act as a Link Tutor, supporting appropriate educational partnerships in our Health and Social Care programmes to ensure that our partner-delivered programmes are delivered to the same high-quality standards as our programmes in Bath in terms of teaching delivery, assessment, student development and enhancement. About the Role Acting as one of the first points of contact with the partner for all academic matters, you will monitor academic progress and provide oversight of academic standards. The role will involve considerable travel to different campus locations to meet staff and students, providing constructive support and promptly addressing any challenges that may arise. You will work to foster enhancement activities and collaborate with internal colleagues both in the School of Sciences and more widely across the university. This role also encompasses various other activities as outlined in the job description, commensurate with the grade and scope of the position. About You You will be an experienced sociology (health and social care) academic who will act as a full-time Link Tutor for our large educational partners in the School. You will have relevant qualifications and experience as a Link Tutor with an external partner, as an external examiner, or in an academic leadership role at an educational partner. You will have extensive knowledge and experience of teaching and learning in a relevant subject area within health and social care. Commitment to building and maintaining professional relationships within the university and with educational partners will be key, as will having the ability to inspire tutors and learners, mainly from non-traditional backgrounds, through a strong commitment to excellent teaching and academic quality. Excellent ICT skills, including the use of virtual learning environments, will also be crucial.
