We have two unique part-time opportunities available for the right candidate, offering a chance to contribute as both an SVQ Assessor and Lecturer in Automotive Engineering. SVQ Assessor in Automotive Engineering

(Permanent) – 17.5 hours per week (0.5 FTE) Lecturer in Automotive Engineering

(Fixed Term until June 2025) – 8.75 hours per week (0.25 FTE) Each position offers distinct responsibilities, but they can be combined for the right candidate. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your expertise into a dynamic learning environment and help shape the future of the automotive engineering field. SVQ Assessor Responsibilities: Coordinate and assess candidates within the curriculum area, evaluating their skills against National Occupational Standards at levels 2 and 3. Plan and guide candidates through each unit, ensuring their written work and practice meet the required standards. Conduct direct observations and provide constructive feedback to candidates. Liaise with the Internal Verifier and other team members. Establish and maintain contacts within the subject area. Conduct candidate reviews as needed throughout the assessment process. SVQ Assessor Requirements: Relevant subject qualification at SCQF Level 7. SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Automotive Engineering. Desirable: Appropriate Assessor's Award or the ability to obtain it within three months of employment. Extensive knowledge and occupational competence in the field of Automotive Engineering. Understanding of SVQs. Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. Ability to relate well to a range of candidates and employers. Time served Automotive Mechanic / Technician. Assessor Salary: £37,301 per annum (pro rata) Lecturer Responsibilities: Qualified to SCQF level 7 (HNC or qualification of equivalent standard) and time served as a vehicle mechanic, you will prepare and deliver teaching materials and work with others to develop new approaches to teaching, making optimum use of learning technologies. The successful candidate will work closely with the Curriculum Manager to provide high-quality learning and assessment opportunities that will enhance learning and teaching with a strong learner focus within the school. Lecturer Requirements: Experience in Automotive Engineering involving both mechanical and electrical automotive systems. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. Ability to work on their own initiative and relate well to student groups. Lecturer Salary: £40,170 – £48,357 per annum (pro rata) Location: Anniesland Campus.
