Legacy and Trusts Officer Fantastic opportunity exists at this Oxfordshire based Christian charity who are seeking to appoint a talented Legacy & Trusts Officer to work with their supporter engagement team in delivering the Legacy & Trusts Management strategy, and in building the charity’s reputation as an excellent recipient of legacies. You’ll have experience of legacy management and caseloads and you’ll be comfortable and confident in liaising with family members, solicitors and other individuals. You will maximize income generation from legacies and trusts, and this will include promotion, marketing, fundraising, training and administration. Answering enquiries from solicitors and individuals in connection with potential bequests will be part of your weekly remit. The aim of the role of Legacy and Trusts Officer is to maximize income generation: from legacies by inspiring, and having oversight of all those involved in the management of the legacy caseload, from Trusts by managing the administration of existing trusts and growing income from new grant making organisations. This includes promotion, marketing, fundraising, training and administration. The Legacy and Trusts Officer will answer enquiries from solicitors and individuals in connection with potential bequests and Trust applications, ensuring gifts in Wills are managed sensitively and in accordance with all relevant legislation; and thereby increase the income received from bequests, in memorial and tribute giving and granting decisions by Trustees. Helpful experience would include: Member of Institute of Fundraising and/or Institute of Legacy Management, experience in carrying out legacy administration at a senior level within the charity sector or as a qualified private client solicitor / member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners), an ILM Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration (CiCLA) or equivalent and experience in using a CRM or equivalent system. Additionally you can demonstrate a strong Christian Faith as there is a Genuine Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010 that the post holder will be an active and practising Christian.
