We're a forward-thinking law firm with several offices across the UK, providing legal expertise and commercial advice to our clients across a wide range of sectors, including Real Estate. We now have a job opportunity for a Legal Assistant to join our large Residential Real Estate team in Leeds. What does the team do? Our Residential team is one of the largest of its kind. We support our clients in a range of projects acting for PLC house builders, regional house builders, investors, and landowners in respect of residential and residential-led mixed-use developments, for both build to rent and build for sale sectors. The team deals with portfolio sales and acquisitions, individual property sales, housing and leasehold management issues, shared ownership, right to buy agreements, and more. Our clients range from developers and investors to social housing providers. What skills are we looking for? This is a fantastic opportunity for someone making the next move in their legal admin career or a legal graduate looking to make the first step into the profession. In this role, you will provide administration support on a broad range of matters for the residential legal team. As part of a busy team, you'll need to be a supportive colleague with both a helpful and flexible attitude. More specifically, you'll play an essential part in ensuring that files are opened and closed correctly, adhering to both our internal processes and individual client requirements, in addition to producing initial correspondence while ensuring that all files are managed effectively and efficiently. In time, this role provides genuine scope to take on more complex responsibilities as you develop your knowledge in this area of law. This varied role will also involve obtaining Official Copies from the Land Registry; submitting searches; assisting with post-completion work; preparing and submitting Land Registry applications; liaising with third parties, clients, and solicitors to provide updates or obtain information; together with managing the photocopying and post. You'll need to have excellent attention to detail, the ability to work to strict deadlines, and excellent communication skills. Previous real estate/conveyancing experience, while advantageous, is by no means essential. Minimum Requirements: Evidence of good academics either from school or other studies. Some previous experience of working within an office environment. Strong IT skills (including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook).
