Legal Assistant Private Client Team Are you looking for a rewarding role that combines administrative expertise with client-focused service? Our client is seeking a dedicated Legal Assistant to join a dynamic team, supporting the Private Client Department in delivering exceptional legal services. This role offers the chance to excel in a client-facing position while gaining invaluable experience in the preparation and completion of Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection, and Estate & Trust Administration. You’ll work closely with fee earners, ensuring the highest level of care and efficiency in handling client matters. Key Responsibilities: Assist with the preparation and completion of Wills, LPAs, and estate management. Maintain accurate records, including chargeable hours and file notes. Draft different Will structures and types of LPAs, supporting solicitors in meetings and client relationships. Manage a central record of Executors and Attorneys, ensuring regular updates. Provide empathetic assistance to clients, particularly in sensitive situations such as probate and mental capacity issues. Proactively handle estate administration, liaising with financial institutions and ensuring timely follow-ups. Be proactive in the administration of estates or management of clients’ affairs under a power of attorney or deputyship. Understand the Probate process and complete Inheritance Tax forms for review by a fee earner. Understand the Court of Protection process, especially when applying for deputy or completing annual reports. Draft letters and assist with document reviews for fee earners. Skills and Attributes: Secretarial/Legal Assistant experience within Private Client, including Court of Protection. Accurate typing speed of at least 60 words per minute. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, research tools, and other systems implemented by the firm. Strong communication and organisational skills. Ability to manage a diverse workload and prioritise urgent matters. Empathy and patience when dealing with clients in difficult circumstances. Perks & Benefits: Compressed Work Schedule:
