Are you an experienced Compliance Manager with a legal background in a Solicitors or Law Firm? If so, our client, a fast-growing prestigious law firm, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Compliance Manager to join their team in the legal services industry. As a Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the company operates in accordance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. You will play a critical role in maintaining their reputation and integrity by developing and implementing compliance programs and policies. The candidate will have a strong understanding of legal compliance requirements, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
To be considered for this role you must have previous legal sector experience along with at least 3 years UK based work experience.
The ideal candidate will have:
A solid background in Compliance and Risk within the legal sector
Knowledge of SRA codes of conduct and regulations
Knowledge of AML regulations and requirements for law firms
Experience of working within the legal audit and risk profession
Experience of being customer-facing
Excellent administration skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
You will be responsible for:
Managing compliance inbox
Advising on all SRA queries
Advising on GDPR issues
Supporting the team with maintaining and monitoring regulatory accounts
Providing necessary training to wider business as and when required
Ensuring policies and procedures are up to date
Keeping up to date with current regulations
Producing weekly/monthly reports
Skills & Qualifications:
Currently working as a Compliance Manager within a Law firm
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within Compliance at mid to senior level
Proficiency in using MS Office applications, particularly Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail
Excellent organisational and time management abilities to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team
High ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
Solid understanding of the client’s business to enable you to suggest improvements to their business and operations
