Be part of JLR’s journey of delivering high profile Modern Luxury, and the constant evolution of the models under Land Rover and future Jaguar brands. As part of a larger Legal & Compliance team you will get involved in the wider commercial legal needs of the company. You will be able to support with advice on key decisions about legal strategies and commercial risks which affect the business. As a Legal Counsel, you will have the knowledge, skills and scope to be a trusted adviser to the JLR business, and able to provide quick and commercial legal advice and drafting. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Advising, drafting and negotiating a variety of distribution contract matters many of which will be of high value and complexity Selecting where necessary and instructing external legal counsel globally; managing their output and associated budgets Support on the rapid development of direct customer terms and relationships on high value products and services, physical and digital; Give clear options and assistance to senior management and other stakeholders in the company decision making process Coordinate and assist the in-house litigation team as necessary with any disputes, arbitrations or litigation Apply working knowledge of key legal practices and principles for the UK, EU and globally where required including industry knowledge when liaising with internal and external parties and customers WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales (or acceptable international equivalent) Demonstrable relevant experience including drafting and negotiations, with some exposure to litigation and arbitration High commercial acumen with confidence to challenge and question where needed Ability to quickly assimilate and analyse legal advice covering multiple jurisdictions, consider the impact to business and provide succinct, creative and pragmatic solutions and advice Go to Market and/or distribution experience Creating Modern Luxury requires a modern approach to work.
