About the role:
Reporting to the Legal Director, the role holder will provide high quality, effective, pragmatic, solutions-oriented legal advice to the business, focusing on non-contentious construction law. This will include working with the wider legal team to advise on and assist the business divisions in negotiating high-value contracts, including standard form (NEC and JCT in particular) and bespoke contracts. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and advising on a variety of legal agreements. Additionally, the role involves advising the business on pragmatic strategies to resolve and manage potential disputes, as well as insurance and latent defects claims.
The candidate must bring a proactive, business and solution-oriented mindset to legal matters and a proven ability to work collaboratively across the organisation and legal team.
About you:
The successful candidate will have at least 2 PQE, having trained in a top UK law firm. Experience within the non-contentious construction and infrastructure sectors is preferable. Familiarity with key standard forms of construction contracts, including NEC and JCT, is desirable. Ideally, you would have experience working in a fast-paced in-house environment. This role would suit someone who is commercially astute and thrives in a collegiate and supportive environment.
