This is a great job for someone who has experience in commercial insurance and/or reinsurance and is looking for an exciting opportunity to grow within a tenacious and expanding UK General Insurance Legal team. This role is ideal for a qualified lawyer with a background in drafting and negotiating a variety of contracts, and someone eager to work on complex legal matters in a collaborative and dynamic environment. A bit about the job: This role is critical to the UK General Insurance Legal team providing expert legal guidance on complex issues and supporting the delivery of good customer outcomes. You’ll work alongside a multi-disciplinary team on corporate and international (re)insurance transactions, collaborate with our Global Corporate Specialty businesses in London and Canada, and advise on legal, regulatory, and risk-related matters. You’ll represent Aviva in high-value transactions, keeping up to date with emerging legal trends and practices, while working with internal and external partners to achieve business objectives. This is an exciting opportunity to help mitigate risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute directly to our growing commercial insurance business. Skills and experience we’re looking for: A strong background in drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts. Experience in policy wording drafting/interpretation, (re)insurance, and regulatory issues (desirable but not required). Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with underwriters, finance, claims, and other teams. A proactive, problem-solving mindset and an eagerness to stay informed on legal developments.
