About the role:

The Legal Products Specialist is responsible for managing and implementing legal technology within the firm. You will work with analysts, engineers, and legal practice groups to improve efficiency and collaborate with peers, lawyers, and legal operations managers to ensure excellent service delivery and project management. Engaging with third-party vendors and keeping abreast of emerging legal technologies are crucial aspects of the role.

Clients demand efficiency and are unimpressed by long hours, even if fees are written off. The firm leverages technology and AI to enhance service delivery. The technology group aims to transform daily operations by reducing friction and providing a platform for new products and services, supported by stable and secure technology services.


Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with lawyers and legal operations managers to gather business intelligence and make informed decisions.
  • Support the implementation and use of emerging technologies, including AI and document automation.
  • Drive projects forward with effective project management and communication.
  • Track and manage requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Procure, deploy, implement, and support various products.
  • Troubleshoot and solve product-related issues with stakeholders.
  • Understand and map technical requirements to legal technology.
  • Set up and manage data rooms.
  • Liaise with external vendors to resolve product issues.
  • Conduct trials and test plans for products.
  • Increase understanding of legal technology products within the team.
  • Research tools, methods, and technology trends.
  • Promote best practices and new ideas within the team.
  • Document and regularly present requirements to stakeholders.
  • Monitor future legal technologies.
  • Perform strategic market analysis to guide product decisions.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Engage in legal training and support active legal projects.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience


Required

Law degree, Computer Science degree or equivalent degree/experience.

Ability to present complex technical ideas to non-technical audiences.

Understanding of law firms, legal processes, and their requirements

Comfortable collaborating with multiple teams on a wide variety of projects.

Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.


Beneficial

An interest in Technology and how it applies to the legal industry.

An interest in artificial intelligence and how it applies to the legal industry.

Experience with product management products (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jira).

Experience with document management systems (e.g. iManage, NetDocuments).

Good presentation skills desirable.
