Legal Secretary

to support a team of Fee Earners in a dynamic legal environment. This hybrid role is based in South Manchester and offers a competitive salary of up to £27,000 per annum. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a flexible and supportive environment, with options for alternative arrangements or reduced hours. The Company This company is a national firm of fully accredited solicitors, which can pursue for you no win no fee personal injury and accident claims; medical and clinical negligence claims and serious injury claims. Their solicitors are supported by a team of dedicated support specialists, cutting-edge technology, and an ongoing training programme that ensures they are fully up-to-date with all advancements or changes to the law. The Role As a Legal Secretary, you will be responsible for assisting Fee Earners in specific areas such as road traffic accidents, employers’ liability, and clinical negligence. You will be drafting correspondence, pleadings, and court bundles, handling document photocopying and scanning, conducting professional and friendly client calls, scheduling appointments and meetings, coordinating with various stakeholders, collaborating with other secretaries and the administration team, and contributing to updating the Proclaim case management system. Key Responsibilities of the Legal Secretary: Assist Fee Earners in specific areas such as road traffic accidents, employers’ liability, and clinical negligence. Draft correspondence, pleadings, and court bundles. Handle document photocopying and scanning. Conduct professional and friendly client calls. Schedule appointments and meetings, coordinating with various stakeholders. Required Knowledge and Experience for the Legal Secretary Role: Prior experience as a legal secretary preferred. Strong grasp of spelling, punctuation, and grammar (minimum Grade C in GCSE English and Maths). Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Proclaim is advantageous. Typing speed of 65+ words per minute, preferably with digital dictation experience. Effective time management and prioritization skills.
