Specialist Law Firm, innovative and ambitious in approach, seeks a confident Legal Secretary, able to provide excellent service to their extensive client base. Town centre location, joining a team of dedicated professionals, your role as Legal Secretary would be to provide effective secretarial and administrative support to Directors and Fee Earners across all departments and to be responsible for maintaining and/or acquiring the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to perform the functions described below. Offered as a permanent contract, the position of Legal Secretary is a full-time role (Monday to Friday) with competitive salary, dependent upon experience and immediate start available. Ideal candidate would possess previous Family legal experience (not essential however), ability to audio type, be highly organised, reliable and have excellent attention to detail. Duties required of Legal Secretary: Assist Fee Earners by providing secretarial and administrative support Comply with all office procedures and policies in line with SQM/CQS requirements Type all correspondence, memoranda, court documents, file notes, proofs of evidence, questionnaires or any other document by way of support Type the above from audio tape or otherwise, including copy typing Set up and maintain files accurately ALB (case management system) in accordance with practice procedures Deal accurately with filing, storage and retrieval of clients’ files and ensure that such files are kept in an orderly condition in accordance with archiving procedures Provide a courteous and professional service when attending upon clients both on the telephone and in person, where necessary accurately recording any messages and passing these on to the appropriate person without unnecessary delay Make appointments, arrange meetings and maintain an up-to-date diary Provide cover for lunchtime switchboard duty or man reception on a rotational basis as and when requested to do so Ensure the positive representation of the Practice in all dealings with clients and others Attend courses appropriate and applicable to your area of work in support of the proper performance of your job Attend any departmental meetings as and when required Comply with the Health & Safety policy of the practice and promote and protect the welfare of all who attend the office in accordance with said policy Skills and attributes required by Legal Secretary: Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, within Family Legal Services (desirable) Audio type Typing 60 – 70 wpm with accuracy Good communication and interpersonal skills Organised, efficient and reliable High attention to detail Location: Redditch, Worcestershire Hours of Work: Mon to Fri 8.50 am - 5.00 pm (35 hours) Salary: circa £22,000 p.a.
