We have an excellent opportunity for a full time Legal Secretary to join our Shrewsbury office to support the Residential Property team. Day to day you will be expected to carry out duties such as greeting clients who attend the office and arranging appointments for the Lawyers in the department, opening and closing files including archiving, drafting documents and correspondence and answering incoming internal and external telephone calls. We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated and advantageous individual who enjoys engaging in business development and will support the growth of the department and company. For the successful candidate, this role has the potential to progress into a Legal Assistant position in the Residential Property team in the future. Employee Benefits PCB Solicitors provide the following Employee Benefits following successful completion of an initial probation period: Pension contributions Salary sacrifice scheme Discounts on gym memberships 24/7 online GP appointments Perks and discounts Employee Assistance Programme 25 days holiday plus bank holidays from start of employment Additional holiday awarded for length of service Paid sick leave after 6 months service, increasing after 2 years Regular company and charity events Free mortgage advice from Mortgage Advice Bureau Job Responsibilities: Answering internal and external telephone calls, taking messages and redirecting to the appropriate personnel Dealing with clients from the outset, liaising between the client, Fee Earner and other third parties Opening and closing files on the case management system (ALB), including archiving Drafting correspondence, documents, forms and attendance notes using the case management system (ALB) Accurately using Property systems to update client matters such as SDLT and Land Registry Ensuring each client matter is up to date in line with PCB’s compliance standards On boarding clients and organising appointments, managing the Lawyer’s calendars across the team Providing excellent client care in line with PCB Solicitors standards General ad hoc administration such as dealing with incoming and outgoing post for the department Build strong client relationships with new and existing clients Pay precise attention to detail and be highly organised with the ability to balance multiple tasks at any one time and prioritise workload Experience with MS office applications necessary Experience using case management and legal systems such as ALB Ability to work under pressure and retain high levels of confidentiality at all times Proven verbal and written internal and external communication skills Maintain your continuing professional development requirements Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team Have a positive approach and strong work ethic Experience: Experience working in a Legal Secretary/Legal Support role required Experience working in Residential Property preferable Job Types: Schedule: Monday to Friday (35 hours per week) Place of work: Shrewsbury: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) Between £21,000.00 and £22,400.00 FTE, depending on qualifications and experience PCB Solicitors do not offer visa/sponsorship or relocation packages
