Lending Director role within the development finance team of an established UK challenger bank. The Development Finance team provides full geographical coverage for their clients across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established property finance team, working alongside the senior management team and focused on originating development finance opportunities across the UK. The role would suit a high achieving development finance professional, with previous banking experience, currently working in a lending team either at a bank or alternative lending platform. Key Responsibilities:

Proactively seeking new business opportunities focused on residential and commercial development debt finance. Building on existing relationships and establishing new relationships with developers, property investors and those requiring real estate debt in key markets and geographies. Conducting full due diligence on client debt proposals, including financial review of the credit worthiness of applicants: Knowledge of construction types Knowledge of construction costs and procurement Knowledge of development appraisals and development cashflows Knowledge of preparing lending Heads of Terms Knowledge of reviewing and creating appropriate financial models Presentation to key stakeholders: To include building financial models from the developer’s initial appraisals and sense checking costs and returns profile Preparation and presentation of credit papers, and closing out queries and issues raised at credit committee Required Skills and Experience:

Established track record in originating development finance debt opportunities across the capital stack Previous management experience, or a willingness to embrace management responsibility over time The ability to work to demanding deadlines A highly skilled communicator with superior written and presentation skills Flexibility with regards to working patterns – this role will involve travel A positive and tenacious attitude IT literacy – familiarity with MS Office and CRM systems A high level of commercial acumen and excellent negotiation skills Attention to detail Excel and modelling skills and ability to interrogate existing client models Knowledge of real estate debt legal documents and legal process Knowledge of LMA suite of documents would be an advantage Knowledge of Funds and fund structures would be an advantage Knowledge of valuation principles and ability to create valuation models would be an advantage If you wish to learn more about this opportunity and our client, please respond with an updated CV.
