Job Title: Lending Specialist Department: Finance Location: Liverpool Contract Type: 12 month secondment / 12 month fixed term contract The Role Responsible for processing lending applications, from initial enquiry to approval and release of funds, ensuring the firm's credit policy and established procedures are both adhered to, and that all processes are performed in a professional, accurate and timely manner. Outcomes of the Role Managing client lending applications (for RIM or Investec Bank lending) from initial enquiry to drawdown of funds, including the provision of the relevant pre-contractual advice to clients, affordability assessment and approval according to internal approval scales. Managing client overdraft exposures, monitoring positions in line with terms of business and reporting positions through routine MI and by exception, where tolerances are exceeded, according to agreed escalation procedures. Providing support for client lending enquiries, liaising directly with clients, investment managers and other internal stakeholders. Issuing client correspondence in relation to new or existing lending including but not limited to statements or repayment/execution letters. Servicing loan interest on a quarterly basis, including raising invoices for clients that elect to pay using external funds. Application of debit interest for overdraft balances and subsequent adjustments according to agreed policy. Maintaining records for all undertakings and guarantees held. Ensuring all loans are compliant with the requirements of the FCA’s CONC and MCOB regulations for creditworthiness and affordability. Issuing annual review requests to IMs, collating responses for each client and identifying changes in circumstance to be reported upwards to the Lending Manager in a summary report. Maintaining data required to produce MI to be reported to the Lending Manager and Head of Lending. Maintaining lending procedures, reflecting changes as they occur and testing where appropriate. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Holds or is working towards attaining the CII/CeMAP Level 3 Mortgage Advisor qualification. Experience with or good awareness of the principles of the FCA’s CONC and MCOB regulation. Able to communicate information, ideas, or issues effectively and clearly through the most appropriate channel within the team and to key stakeholders. Able to organise and prioritise own workload effectively, working to a high degree of autonomy. Demonstrates good teamwork, supporting colleagues to achieve team goals. High level of accuracy and concentration with ability to grasp new tasks quickly. Comfortable working across the MS Office suite of applications.
