16 months Overview of the Role: The Grant Writer will be required to assist and lead on key areas of LBA’s exceptional work. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a vibrant and innovative charity and help bring enjoyment and vitality to young people from deprived and isolated communities. Most of the tasks will require using your own computer, so it is essential that you feel comfortable and confident using MS-Office software and Google-Suites. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the ongoing writing of grants, trusts, bursaries, funds, financial support and tenders for government, local authority, sports governing bodies and any other funding organisation. Drive compelling funding campaigns and develop strong strategic partnerships with funding decision makers. Create long-term funding strategies for the LBA to ensure its ongoing success. About the Candidate Skills & Personal Qualities Required: Very strong verbal and written communication skills. Competent in the use of Microsoft Packages such as MS-Word and Excel. The ability to plan work and meet deadlines (deadline-driven). Able to work under their own autonomy or as part of a team. Discretion and an understanding of confidentiality issues. Experience and Knowledge: Ideally, at least 1 year previous grant writing experience within the Charity, Not for Profit or public sectors. Ideally, holds a degree in one of the following: Law, Politics, Economics, English, Social Policy or similar. Proficient knowledge of fundraising methods. Proficient in measuring and reaching business income goals. Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources. A willingness to remain abreast of the latest trends, best practices, and ethics.
