Job Description
As a Class 1 LGV Driver for our Transport Department, you will be responsible for executing bulk collections and deliveries between various DPD sites and customers nationwide. This role requires a high level of professionalism and commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
Operating and maintaining a modern fleet of vehicles in accordance with company standards and road safety regulations.
Adhering strictly to agreed shift patterns to ensure timely deliveries and collections.
Executing deliveries to HGV-friendly locations with precision and care.
Performing trailer swaps or overseeing live unloading and reloading processes, as per individual customer requirements.
Ensuring all necessary documentation is accurately completed and maintained for each journey.
Conducting thorough pre-trip inspections of vehicles to guarantee roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.
Representing DPD professionally at all times, maintaining a courteous and respectful demeanour with customers and colleagues.
Promptly reporting any incidents, delays, or issues to the relevant supervisors or managers.
Strictly adhering to all relevant traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
Participating in ongoing training and development programmes to enhance skills and stay updated with industry best practices.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
Valid UK Class 1 Driving Licence
Minimum of 12 months Class 1 driving experience
Valid UK Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) Card
Valid UK Digital Tachograph Card
Demonstrated ability to load and unload trailers as required
