12 MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT. Band 2 CA

Hours:

Full-time role, but job share or part-time applicants are welcome.

Hybrid working:

Most work will take place on-site due to the nature of the role.

About London Transport Museum (LTM):

Overview of role:

We seek a Librarian to help assess and catalogue unrecorded material held at our Library store. You will work with a small team to support our unique collection.

Key Accountabilities:

Assess material according to the Library’s Collection Development Policy.

Manage, organise and package collection items according to LTM guidelines.

Catalogue Library collection items following international library standards.

Contribute to project management by organising work to meet deadlines and supervising staff as required.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

Skills:

Enthusiastic and self-motivated, able to work independently (essential)

Highly organised and able to prioritise workloads (essential)

High level of accuracy and attention to detail (essential)

Excellent IT skills, confident user of Microsoft Office (essential)

Good interpersonal and written communication skills (essential)

Able to work collaboratively as part of a team (essential)

Knowledge:

CILIP accredited degree or equivalent relevant experience (essential)

Knowledge of current library practice in collection management (essential)

Good working knowledge of a library management system (essential)

Knowledge of library cataloguing standards (essential)

Interest in transport, history or heritage (desirable)

Experience:

Experience in a library service and library cataloguing (essential)

Experience working with special collections or in a heritage setting (desirable)

Experience managing staff or volunteers (desirable)
