Our client, a leading automotive manufacturing company is looking for Licensed Tool & Die Maker to join the team.
Location: Scarborough (Markham Rd & Finch Ave E)
Job Responsibilities:
Builds new dies and tooling from drawings and specifications by laying out, setting up, machining, fitting, and finishing metal stock and castings. Repairs dies and tools used in production as needed. Tests repaired dies for proper operation, operating press as required and running test parts. Operates a variety of machine tools to cut, mill or grind. Verifies conformance of completed dies to specifications by checking dimensions, clearances, alignments and finish, consistently working to close tolerances. Performs Preventive and Predictive maintenance on tool room equipment. Responsible to ensure that all safety and quality start-up procedures are followed. Participates in all areas of lean manufacturing. Qualifications:
Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience as a Tool & Die Maker in an automotive environment. Good working knowledge of crane operation. Good knowledge of various materials (tool steel, etc.), heat treating, and basic welding. Proficient use and operation of all Tool room equipment including grinders. Mathematical and mechanical aptitude. Demonstrated organizational skills, analytical skills, and problem-solving. Able to work well independently and in a team setting. How to Apply:
