About the Role

You will lead the way in delivering high-end services focused on Cloud migration, management, optimisation, and software licensing. Your responsibilities will include managing and developing these services, and performing various software licensing and software asset management tasks across contractual, technical, financial, and commercial client areas.

Responsibilities

Delivery

Manage and deliver services to clients proactively, ensuring a consistently excellent level of service.

Make sure client objectives are met and they derive maximum value from their software licensing arrangements.

Develop client engagement practices including technical solutions, process and project management, software asset management, and wider ITAM practices.

Support and advise on commercial discussions and deal preparation strategy and tactics.

Compile accurate Effective Licensing Positions and associated reporting from various data sources, including Effective Licensing Positions for at least 1 top-tier vendor.

Identify, document, report license exposures, risks, and associated remediation options.

Develop and report licensing optimisation angles and narratives.

Contribute to client engagement planning and delivery as part of the team.

Assist clients with software renewals, ad-hoc licensing queries, and other areas of Software Asset Management.

Improvement & Business Development

Support sales activities in new and existing customer accounts by providing Vendor subject matter expertise.

Ensure the team develops and maintains key client relationships to ensure client retention and development.

Contribute to the development and ongoing improvement of licensing-related processes.

Ensure customer successes are logged and promoted within the client's organisation and also recorded.

Define, maintain, improve, and monitor documentation, report templates, delivery standards, and working practices across the team.

Develop internal processes to ensure services are delivered to a high standard, are efficient, and cost/resource effective.

Team Lead

Manage a small team, providing guidance, support and performance feedback

Set clear goals and objectives for the team, aligning with ITAM Delivery and company goals

Foster a positive team culture that encourages collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement

Conduct regular one to one meetings to discuss progress, challenges and career development

Act as a liaison between the team and upper management, ensuring clear and consistent communication

Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to team members, supporting their professional growth

Assist with the training, mentoring, and development of the ITAM Delivery team.

Required Skills

In-depth knowledge and at least 5 years of experience in software licensing, preferably obtained from a vendor, reseller, consultancy, or end-user environment

Specialisation in at least one top-tier vendor such as Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, or SAP

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Strong understanding and experience in data centre and cloud computing environments

Ability to work well in a team while also being self-driven and tenacious

Residency in the UK for a minimum of 5 years

Preferred Skills

Experience managing or leading a team

Additional MCP qualifications

Azure certification(s)

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Data handling and analysis experience gained from an IT Asset Management environment

Experience of specific IT Asset Management discovery tools (e.g., Flexera, Snow, USU, ServiceNow, RV Tools, SCCM)

Wider software vendor licensing experience (e.g. Oracle, SAP, IBM, VMware etc.)

Cloud FinOps data handling and analysis

Cloud computing data handling and analysis
