We are recruiting for a Licencing Officer/Administrator to join a dynamic team within the Private Hire Vehicle Licencing Department at our client's organisation, the City of Wolverhampton Council.

As a Licencing Officer/Administrator, you will play a crucial role in processing private hire licensing applications, check DBS update records and you will be responsible for processing applications for licences, permits, registrations, and more.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who can contribute to the efficient and effective operation of Licencing Services. You will have excellent attention to detail and be able to ensure that all records accurately reflect transactions and appropriate fees are received.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide exceptional customer service, offering advice and information to the public, local businesses, and council officers regarding licencing activities Data entry and updating spreadsheets Process and issue applications for licences and registrations Maintain accurate registers, records, and statistics using both manual and computer systems Answer telephone calls and handle personal inquiries in a professional manner Prepare standard letters and memoranda as required Attend meetings, conferences, and seminars as necessary Prepare and present reports to relevant officers and Members Be flexible in terms of working hours, as occasional duties outside of normal office hours may be required Comply with all relevant policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, equal opportunities policies, and data protection regulations

In addition to the aforementioned responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to participate in staff development, appraisal, and training as appropriate, fostering continuous professional development. You will also have the chance to contribute to service improvement efforts and support the Council's commitment to crime reduction and community safety.

This temporary role offers a pay rate of £12.59 per hour, with a working pattern of full-time hours (37.5 hours per week). The initial contract length is 3 to 6 months, with potential for extension.
