Are you a Maintenance Engineer Team leader looking for an exciting role to impart your knowledge on a team? This global food manufacturing company in Leicester is looking for a lead engineer who can drive forward operational excellence. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of 8-10 engineers, providing training, monthly one-to-ones, driving continuous improvements to the lines, planning the maintenance schedule, and coaching and developing the team.
You will need to have a maintenance engineering background in the FMCG or food manufacturing industries with experience in leading teams and be committed to self-development.
This role will operate on a days-based contract working Monday to Friday. Based in Leicester.
The role as a Maintenance Team Leader: Plan maintenance tasks and ensure they are executed by the team. Develop the team's technical knowledge. Prioritize work orders and notifications. Identify improvement plans through the tracking of maintenance indicators. Identify ways to reduce losses. Champion and lead the continuous improvement process. Qualifications and skills needed for the Lead Engineer role: Time-served engineer with a Mechanical or Electrical bias. Level 3 NVQ Engineering Qualification. Effective communication skills. Integrated work system and operational experience. Hands-on experience as an engineer in a manufacturing setting. Possess a flexible mindset and work as part of a wider team.
