Full time, 4 on 4 off (2 days, 2 nights) shift pattern Salary up to £49,000 (including shift premium) depending on skill level + additional benefits Position Summary We are now looking for a Skilled Shift Maintenance Engineer, known internally as a Line Performance Engineer to help deliver the reliability strategy for our Purina factory in Sudbury, Suffolk. Ideally this would be a multiskilled engineer with a proven track record or a single skilled engineer willing to develop their career further. We are keen to speak to those who have operational experience supporting and running a line whilst using your engineering skills to implement corrective and preventative maintenance. This role is a key role for the factory; responsible for a defined set of production assets in terms of the engineering strategy to support in driving your area to world class performance levels in safety, quality, cost and service. Other key responsibilities: Depending on the plan for your shift performing 1 of the following roles: Breakdown engineer 1 or 2, performing planned maintenance tasks or Cell related duties. To maintain the basic condition of the machines within their line and perform improvement activities, as well as repairing breakdowns. Empowering and inspiring people by supporting the line team and developing their capability, alongside running the key business lines to achieve this and to build the knowledge of how the lines operate to support cell related duties and deliver the daily plan. Driving a safe culture and eliminate safety risks. Ensuring that all products are manufactured according to quality standards. Participate and support the Autonomous and Maintenance Working Groups to drive improvement through the implementation of following tools: inspections, abnormalities identification, centre lining, breakdown analysis, preventive and predictive maintenance. Drive continuous excellence and continuous improvements in the key operational business processes throughout manufacturing. What will make you successful To be successful in this key role we expect you to ideally have experience working in a FMCG manufacturing environment maybe as a Technician, Shift Engineer or a Maintenance Engineer and have strong service orientation amongst internal stakeholders with lots of proactive initiative and passion for continuous improvement. Other key attributes we are looking for are: Ideally educated to apprenticeship level NVQ 3 or hold a recognised engineering qualification. Multiskilled engineer or single skilled and willing to develop will be considered. Ability to run operational lines whilst making incremental engineering improvements to drive reliability is a key experience we require. Demonstrate mechanical comprehension & food safety/Food handling awareness. Ability to understand and adhere to strict hygiene rules. Experience in Planned Preventative asset Maintenance. Experience in Root Cause Analysis tools/problem solving methodology. Understanding of Lean manufacturing tools including TPM. Demonstrates understanding of Continuous Improvement and cost awareness. Data analysis and understanding of performance indicators. Demonstrate that you are a real team player. What you need to know What can we offer in return?
