Service Care Solutions are working alongside a local authority in Nuneaton and Bedworth who are looking for a Local Taxation Officer to join their team on a temporary basis. Please find a description of the role below.
Role:
Local Taxation Officer Rate:
26-30 per hour (Umbrella) Location:
Nuneaton and Bedworth Contract:
3 months ongoing.
Key Responsibilities: Handle enquiries from the public, businesses, and other agencies via phone, email, in person, or in writing. Process refunds for overpaid Council Tax and NNDR. Undertake tracing work to locate absconders and prepare cases for write-off. Assist with bankruptcy-related matters and manage sundry debt accounts. Detect and prevent fraudulent applications for reliefs, discounts, and exemptions. Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation and assist with statutory relief determinations. Liaise with internal departments and external organisations as needed. Strong knowledge of Council Tax and NNDR legislation. Experience in customer service and handling financial transactions.
