Salary: GBP35 - GBP40 per hour Locum Band 6 Physiotherapist – Inpatient Services (Orthopaedics, Respiratory, Medical, Neuro & Frailty) Yeovil, Somerset 3-month contract - Locum/Temporary £35+ per hour We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Locum Band 6 Physiotherapist to provide support across a range of inpatient services, including Orthopaedics, Respiratory, Medical, Neuro, and Frailty services. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality physiotherapy care to patients with a variety of needs in an inpatient setting. You will work alongside other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive rehabilitation and treatment programs, ensuring that patients achieve the best possible outcomes for their recovery and well-being. Key Responsibilities Provide physiotherapy assessment and treatment for inpatients across Orthopaedics, Respiratory, Medical, Neuro, and Frailty services. Develop and implement individualised rehabilitation programs based on clinical assessment and evidence-based practice. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care, liaising with doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals. Provide education and advice to patients and their families regarding treatment plans, self-management strategies, and rehabilitation goals. Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary to meet changing needs and goals. Participate in the discharge planning process, ensuring that patients have appropriate rehabilitation strategies in place. Document patient care and progress accurately and in accordance with trust policies, ensuring continuity of care. Supervise and support junior physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistants, and students as required. Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives within the physiotherapy department. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, infection control protocols, and professional standards. Skills and Qualifications HCPC-registered Physiotherapist with a valid qualification. Minimum of 2 years of post-registration experience as a physiotherapist, with experience in a hospital or inpatient setting. Experience in treating patients across a range of specialities, including Orthopaedics, Respiratory, Medical, Neuro, and Frailty services. Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and develop treatment plans for complex cases. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and provide clear guidance to patients and families. Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience in supervising junior staff and providing education to patients and teams. Knowledge of relevant clinical guidelines and evidence-based practice in physiotherapy.
