Full timePart time
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Locum Consultant to work in Haematology and join our team at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to be involved in the future development of Haematology services, for which there is a high level of commitment within the Trust, and with partner organisations.

The post will be based at the Huddersfield Royal Infirmary; however, the post holder will be expected to work across the two hospital sites.

The post holder will undertake inpatient and outpatient work and is encouraged to develop his/her own sub-specialty interest.

Applications are encouraged from experienced Locum consultants wishing to take up a new challenge or newly accredited consultants who will be supported through our highly regarded development programmes.

There are 2 dedicated ANPs for Haematology that provide follow-up clinics, telephone advice lines, and support the junior doctors and nursing staff. The department also has a Haematology specialist nurse who supports the cancer patients through their pathway.

There is a dedicated Oncology/Haematology ward based on the Huddersfield Royal Infirmary site and an assessment area for ward attenders.

There are two dedicated day case facilities, one on the Greenlea unit at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, that opened in October 2015. The other is in the Macmillan Unit at Calderdale Royal Hospital. The Trust has a Chemotherapy Clinical Nurse Specialist and a well-established Chemotherapy Team to support.

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is an exceptional place to work with many amazing teams of hard-working and dedicated staff, delivering high standards of patient care. We have made significant changes in the way we work to meet the challenges of the changing NHS, and were rated by the Care Quality Commission as Good in June 2018.

Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is at the forefront of the digital health revolution. With the launch of a full Electronic Patient Record in 2017, the Trust started on its journey to be the safest, most efficient, and patient-centred trust in the NHS. EPR is part of an ongoing project to develop a digital ecosystem within the trust to become a truly paper-free organisation. With this modernisation, there are future opportunities for research and development in this rapidly developing field of medicine. Through working at CHFT, you can be part of this innovative area aiming to bring safer and more effective care to our patients.
