Consultant in Pediatrics East Midlands, UK (12-month locum salaried contract) . The area offers the best of both worlds - cosmopolitan city life and stunning countryside. Trust Information Hospitals see more than 4,000 outpatients daily. See more Trauma & Orthopaedic outpatients than any other Trust - over 3,300 per week. An average of 860 patients are seen in A&E every day - 6th largest in the country. Hospitals admit more than 220 emergency patients daily. Carry out more planned surgical operations than any other Trust in England with almost 50,000 operations taking place in our 52 operating theatres. One of only 5 Trusts nationally with more than 50 operating theatres. Carry out more than 300 elective procedures each working day. What’s on offer for you? Salary scale between £105,504 and £139,882. Generously funded study leave is available. Cycle to work scheme. Blue light discounts. Key Responsibilities: Provision of a comprehensive General Paediatric service, with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis & treatment of illness, & the proper functioning of the department. Responsibility for the continuing care & treatment of patients in your charge & personal performance of clinical duties as agreed in the job plan, allowing for all proper delegation to, & training of staff. Provision of an out-of-hours service with colleagues including participation in the Consultant 1 in 8 General Paediatric on-call rota (Non-Resident Rota). Responsibility for the professional supervision & management of junior medical staff, carrying out teaching, examination & accreditation duties as required & for contributing to undergraduate, postgraduate & continuing medical education activity, locally & nationally as appropriate. Participation in the clinical governance arrangements of the Trust & specifically within the Directorate including clinical audit, & Research. Requirements to Apply: MBBS/MBChB or equivalent. Full GMC Registration with a License to practice at the time of application. APLS provider. Training in Child Protection/ Safeguarding (Min Level 3). Desirable: Have CCT or within 6 months of attaining CCT at the time of interview or entry onto GMC Specialist Register by time of interview.
