Locum Consultant Physician in Acute Medicine (with Specialty Interest) 10 PA Post Whipps Cross Hospital Whipps Cross University Hospital, part of the Barts Health NHS Trust Group, is looking for a full-time Consultant Physician in Acute and General Medicine to fulfil a 6-month fixed-term post with the possibility for extension to cover maternity leave from Feb 2025. As a Consultant Physician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients within the Acute Medicine department. You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for patients and will be involved in teaching and supervising junior medical staff. Person Specification
Qualifications
Full GMC Registration with license to practice Evidence of participation in research (peer-reviewed publications, etc.) Clinical Experience
Higher specialist training in Specialty Interest and G(I) Medicine or Acute Medicine Broad experience in Specialty and G(I)M/Acute Medicine Current ALS certificate Ability to organise and deliver a teaching programme Experience in SDEC and/or ambulatory care Knowledge
G(I)M and of the specialist skills required for this post Knowledge of multidisciplinary clinical audit and demonstrable commitment to improving quality of care to patients Understanding of modern medical curricula and commitment to life-long learning Skills
Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team Experience of supervising medical staff Ability to teach medical students and junior medical and nursing staff Ability to motivate busy clinicians to engage in teaching Ability to develop research projects and supervise trainees in their research Personal attributes
