Provide medical treatment within a model of multi-disciplinary care. The post holder would be expected to provide input into the care and treatment of 16 inpatients (spread across Penshurst and Groombridge wards) and work alongside the ACP and GP trainee to provide cover and cross-cover for both wards. Attend weekly clinical team meetings and perform medical duties that are decisions of that meeting. Compile a patient's history from a number of sources, and prepare case summaries and CPA reports. Prepare reports for Mental Health Review Tribunals and Managers' Hearings and give evidence. Liaise with other clinical teams within the Trevor Gibbens Unit. Liaise with forensic community services and other care providers like for example GPs. Provide advice and support to junior medical staff and resident doctors. Assessments of patients in prison, out of area or in high-security units. Attend the service referrals meeting, and, when appropriate, perform assessments on patients referred to the service. Work with the supervising consultant and the other consultant forensic psychiatrists in Trevor Gibbens Unit. Participate in clinical governance and clinical audit/research.
