Siemens Materials and Logistics team for Customer Service, based in Goole are a function going through quite significant transformational change. The team are responsible for managing and coordinating all materials and logistics for over 3000 Siemens trains which transport passengers every day safely. The key requirements of this team are to ensure that demand planning and forecasts are accurate, stock is purchased and delivered to our sites in the desired state exactly at the time of requirement. You will be expected to assist and in some cases lead the wider team members with achieving these objectives required by the business which can involve activities from planning and project management, supplier engagement and performance management, materials analysis, warehousing operations or continuous improvement. Key to successful delivery is working with and developing relationships across cross-functional teams, supporting and ensuring communication flow is maintained, accurate and in a timely fashion. - Work with Internal & External teams to understand Inventory Management systems and processes used by the various business areas.
- Understand and champion elements of materials planning and forecasting with strong focus on effective strategies for the management for materials.
- Understand, support and deliver logistical plans for all materials across the network by identifying and improving, through appropriate Root-cause analysis and use of suitable problem-solving techniques.
- Gathering data from a variety of sources. Assess, interpret, and analyse the data in development of a thorough, accurate, and supportable demand forecast.
- Propose, support and lead improvement activities in our Distribution Centers to help identify and develop efficiencies.
- Lead project's from idea conception through to implementation and delivery as required.
- Support and where required coordinate continuous improvement activities across the full value chain with a strong materials and logistics concentration.
- Carry out other duties, responsibilities, and projects as assigned, in an effective manner.
We are seeking innovative and inquisitive candidates that demonstrate the following;
- Achieved or be on track to achieve a 2:2 or above in Supply Chain Management, Data, Technology & Systems or Mathematics related degree.
- Logical thinking, willing to self-learn and research, and take a creative approach to problem solving
- Ability to work independently, safely and responsibly; take ownership of challenges and ideas and are looking to develop your ability to drive and lead change
- Enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions
