Logistics Manager

to oversee and optimize our logistics and supply chain operations, ensuring our customers worldwide receive the exceptional service they expect. About the Role

This is a hands-on, leadership-focused role that combines strategic management with day-to-day operations. As our

Logistics Manager , you will directly manage a team of three logistics professionals, mentoring and supporting them to achieve their full potential. You’ll lead by example, rolling up your sleeves to book shipments, pick and pack orders, and refine processes to ensure smooth and efficient operations. You’ll take charge of our order fulfillment processes for

Taster Validation Schemes , ensuring we exceed customer expectations. Your leadership will play a critical role in maintaining our reputation for excellence while driving innovation and improvements in logistics. Your Responsibilities

Direct Team Management:

Mentor, motivate, and manage three logistics team members, providing day-to-day guidance, training, and performance feedback. Set clear objectives for the team and foster a collaborative, high-performing work environment.

Hands-On Operations:

Personally handle critical logistics tasks, including booking shipments, picking and packing orders, and preparing despatch documentation. Provide coverage for team members during absences, ensuring continuity in operations.

Process Optimization:

Analyze logistics workflows and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Use data-driven insights to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Customer-Centric Approach:

Ensure timely and accurate order processing and deliveries to meet and exceed customer expectations. Collaborate with the Sales and Yeast teams to streamline operations and resolve customer queries.

Strategic Oversight:

Negotiate contracts with couriers and suppliers to achieve the best prices and service levels. Oversee stock levels, delivery schedules, and transport costs using advanced IT systems.

Administration and Compliance:

Maintain compliance with despatch regulations, document special cases, and coordinate stock replenishment schedules.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

Essential:

A minimum of 2 years in logistics administration and leadership experience. GCSEs (grades A-C) in Maths and English. Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, player-manager approach. Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making abilities.

Desirable:

Qualifications in Business Administration, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management. Professional certifications such as CILT Level 2. Experience with export procedures and compliance. Familiarity with ISO 9001 and e-commerce systems. Proficiency in a second language is advantageous.
