£435 (based on working 5 days a week) The role: 4myschools is currently working with schools on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds to provide LSA long-term supply cover (temp-to-perm opportunity), offering a commitment of 3 or 5 days a week, specifically to support a child with an EHCP for ASD. LSA Key Responsibilities: Deliver Engaging Learning Activities:

You'll set up and promote learning activities prepared by the class teacher, ensuring they meet the individual needs of students and encourage engagement. Observations:

Your observations will help the class teacher and SENDCo adapt lesson plans and strategies to better support the child's development. Classroom Management:

You'll create a positive, inclusive classroom environment and use a variety of behaviour management strategies tailored to each child's specific needs. Individualised Support:

You will also provide targeted support to pupils with specific learning and emotional needs, adapting your teaching methods and resources as necessary to help them overcome barriers to learning. Collaboration with colleagues and other professionals:

Furthermore, you will work as a team to ensure a holistic approach to each pupil's development. Parental and Carer Engagement:

You will also be responsible for communicating effectively with parents and carers, providing regular updates on pupil progress, and involving them in strategies to support their child's learning and well-being. Safeguarding and Well-being:

Finally, it is essential to ensure the safety and well-being of pupils by adhering to safeguarding policies, identifying concerns, and implementing interventions to support their emotional and mental health. Requirements: As the ideal applicant, you will ideally have: Previous experience working with SEND. Knowledge and understanding of the challenges children with SEND face on a daily basis and how, as an LSA, your support and guidance can positively impact these challenges. Competencies in organisation, classroom management, building rapport, and adaptability. Strong communication skills that you can tailor to meet the needs of each student.
