About the role

You will work closely with a transactions VAT Director and be a crucial member of the team, ensuring the successful delivery of interesting, challenging and high-quality transactions tax technical projects.

Responsibilities: Completing indirect tax due diligence projects identifying VAT risks and making commercial and practical recommendations to our clients, which may be sellers or buyers of businesses. Delivering tax structuring advice before and after transactions to provide VAT efficient solutions for clients. Developing the more junior team, including delegation of appropriate work, on-the-job coaching and more formal feedback. Working alongside the transactions VAT Director to actively assist in business development including proposal preparation for new work and building relationships with clients and targets. About the ideal candidate: CTA qualified is preferred or equivalent. Previous experience operating at Manager level (or equivalent) is necessary, or can demonstrate the skill set required to undertake the role. Good knowledge of working on transactions, either in a specialist capacity or as a part of a broader role. Proven experience in client handling and building good relationships. Embraces an inclusive approach to people development and supervision, demonstrating strong coaching abilities. Business development experience and/or interest in this aspect is advantageous but not essential. Note: This job description reflects the present requirements of the role.
