Our client is incredibly passionate about providing data solutions to their clients within Defence and National Security and their enthusiasm has led to winning a number of key pieces of work that they are excited to deliver!

They are looking for a number of specialists with Machine Learning experience to work closely with their clients to drive innovation and solve problems.

This role would suit someone who has worked in a customer facing/consultancy role within Defence and/or Government. At the more senior levels, you must be comfortable leading client engagements, managing teams and account management as required.

Minimum of 1-2 days per week on site, but consultants must be happy traveling up to 4 days per week to customer sites if required.

Key responsibilities

Work on client facing engagements, and at more senior levels lead the engagements and be the face of the project/programme

Gather client requirements and work together to ensure that their requirements are met from concept through to delivery

Create innovative solutions based on research of new and existing technologies

Solve complex problems by applying data science and machine learning techniques

Work with the customer’s data scientists to train, advise and deliver the solution

Give input to bids and proposals as required

If applicable, lead and manage technical teams and ensure their performance

Identify business development opportunities and areas for growth

Join our client’s data science community and work with colleagues in other sectors to come up with brilliant and innovative solutions

Skills & experience

Knowledge of Defence or National Security customers and their needs

Machine learning experience and ability to work with unstructured data

Experience applying data science and/or machine learning to customer problems

At the more senior levels, experience leading teams of data consultants and being accountable for their performance

Delivery focused – this role is all about delivering value to the client

Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, ideally within a consulting role

Python experience is essential

Other technologies such as Cloud, Jupyter, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing applications will all be looked on favourably

Ability to convey complex and highly technical issues to less technical audiences
