Candidates must hold valid Loading Shovel, Telehandler, and 360 Excavator tickets. Main Purpose: As a Tipping Hall Operative, you will support the day-to-day operations of the Tipping Hall and Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA) Hall. You will operate a variety of machinery to ensure efficient handling and processing of waste, while adhering to the highest health and safety standards. Responsibilities: Operate machinery, including loading shovels, telehandlers, mobile shredders, and 360 excavators. Ensure the highest standards of health and safety are upheld during plant operations. Manage and maintain the IBA bunker, including loading wagons with IBA. Perform waste inspections, identifying and reporting any non-conforming waste. Maintain housekeeping standards across the facility. Communicate effectively using two-way radios. Monitor and maintain Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) to ensure adherence to operational and business safety rules. Promptly report any health, safety, or environmental issues. Mechanical Treatment/Site Lead Person Requirements: Qualifications: Valid Loading Shovel ticket Valid Telehandler ticket Valid 360 Excavator ticket Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and via two-way radio. Ability to understand and maintain machinery. Decision-making within defined authority. Experience: Prior experience in the waste industry, including operating mobile and mechanical treatment plant equipment. Personal Profile: Behavioural Competencies: Calm and authoritative under pressure. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Willingness to learn and adapt to new skills.
