We're looking for a multi-skilled engineer to work as a Machine Vision Engineer, installing, commissioning and optimising industry leading Cognex vision systems across the UK. This is a hands-on, dynamic role that offers variety and the chance to tackle unique challenges in different environments. With frequent travel across the UK, you’ll see new places, meet diverse teams and experience the satisfaction of bringing projects to life from start to finish. Key Responsibilities: Installation & Commissioning: You’ll travel to different client sites (usually 2-4 days on-site) to install and get

vision systems up and running, ensuring they’re performing at their best. Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Whether it’s a damaged connection or software that needs optimising, you’ll dive in headfirst to find the issue, fix it, and keep the systems running smoothly. Client Collaboration: You’ll work closely with clients to figure out their needs, recommend solutions, and make sure everything’s running smoothly post-installation. Variety of Projects: No two projects are the same. You’ll work on everything from inspecting high-speed lines to ensuring the highest product quality, all while tackling new challenges across various industries. On-the-Go: You’ll travel across the UK, seeing new places and experiencing new challenges with every project. The Person Engineering Experience: You’ve got experience as a

maintenance engineer ,

control systems engineer , or

installation/commissioning engineer . Fault-finding and troubleshooting are second nature to you. Full UK Driving License: You’ll be travelling around the UK for most of the job, so you’ll need a full UK driving license. You’re going places! Qualifications (Optional):

BTEC ,

BEng , or

MSc ? Great! If not, don’t worry if you’ve got the skills and the right attitude, that’s what matters most. Tech Savvy: You don’t need to be a

Cognex expert , but you should be comfortable with industrial systems, automation, or control systems. If you’ve worked with

Cognex

vision systems (like In-Sight, VisionPro, or DataMan), or vision systems from other manufacturers, even better. Problem Solver: You’re the go-to person when things break. You love the challenge of diagnosing issues and finding solutions that work. Adaptable & Energetic: You’re comfortable working in a variety of environments, and you’re always up for a new challenge. (Bonus points if you love variety in your day-to-day routine.) Team Player: You know that great teams work together. You’ll collaborate with clients and the Visicon team, sharing knowledge and ideas to get things done. Autonomy: You’ll have the freedom to manage your time and projects, but you’ll also have a supportive team behind you when you need it.
