Job Title: Machinist / CNC setter/Operator Location: Braintree Start Date: ASAP Duration: Ongoing
Job Overview: A Machinist / CNC setter/Operator is required.
Shifts Available: 8am- 4pm must be flexible
Responsibilities: Able to read engineering drawings. Working with cast resin, steel, brass, aluminum, & plastic. Generally light work. Production work CNC & Manual turning. Good lathe operator. CNC experience would be a bonus. You would be required to be able set and operate a 2 axis CNC lathe and manual lathe by following a setting sheet. Occasional machining of pancake cable assemblies (counterbalance set up). Training will be given for the right candidate. Working in Air-conditioned room with air replacement system and local extraction for production work. Repair tooling to engineering drawings useful, not essential Perform pillar drilling, tapping, polishing, cleaning and other tasks as required. Occasional setting for others eventually if trained Some inspection of incoming goods & tooling You must clean down the machines and work areas at the end of the day. You must ensure tips/tooling is maintained and replaced as required. Tooling is held on site in stores. Must have good work ethic and be flexible due to fast passed environment and changes in priorities.
Requirements: Jobs and demand vary from day to day as set by the tool room supervisor. CNC & Manual turning. Good lathe operator. CNC experience would be a bonus Ability to work under own initiative Training can be given where required for the right candidate. May be asked to help with some simple handyman tasks
Benefits: 15-16/hr subject to experience Opportunity for long time- term work Friendly and supportive team environment + holiday accrued on each hour worked. Pension paid after qualifying period. Holiday accrued on each hour worked.
