We have an exciting opportunity for a Machinist to join our Pattern Shop team here at Williams Racing. In this role you will be responsible for setting up and machine patterns and carbon components to a drawing, this includes 5 axis machining and some self-inspection,
As a Machinist in our Pattern Shop, your main responsibilities will be:
To carry out machining operations as directed by the Supervision ensuring that all steps are taken to meet given deadlines and that machines are run at their optimum.
Where appropriate, to communicate with TPP when solving problems when machining patterns/jigs/components and/or offer solutions that may further improve the quality or runtime of the job.
To proactively liaise with both fellow machinists within the Department and other areas within the business to ensure best practice is established and utilised.
Carry out all possible inspection during the machining of any patterns, jigs and components establish to ensure work presented to Inspection is right first time.
To ensure that all relevant Work Order and shop floor data is collected and is accurate.
Ensure communication to other shifts is thorough and accurate so that a smooth handover results in minimum loss in production time.
To communicate ideas and suggestions regarding more efficient / effective production to the Supervision/Management.
Ensure all tooling is built to correct specification and stored accordingly.
Follow all predefined information as set out in the Program job packs.
We are looking for a Machinist, with the following skills and experience:
You will possess a recognised apprenticeship or have relevant experience in a similar environment.
Proficient in using 3 and 5 axis machine centres.
Knowledge of various materials and their properties.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Attention to detail and precision.
The ability to work well independently and be self-motivated, as well as work diligently with the pattern shop team.
