A&P Falmouth - Machinist Home to one of the world’s largest natural deep-water harbours, A&P Falmouth’s facility is one of the largest ship-repair complexes in the UK. We are looking for Machinists to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. As a Machinist with us, you’ll use a range of machining tools to accurately manufacture ship components and parts. So, what will you do? Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and vertical and horizontal boring machines to manufacture ship components and parts. Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to determine machining requirements. Machine parts to precise tolerances and specifications using appropriate tools, techniques, and materials. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality standards. And what are we looking for? Experience as a Machinist or in a similar role in a manufacturing, industrial, or engineering environment, or eagerness to learn and be trained to our standards of work. Ability to interpret and understand technical drawings. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Good attention to detail and a logical, analytical, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
