We are welcoming applications for a Teacher of BusinessThis position is a Fixed Term contract until 30th March 2025 The City of Liverpool College is the only general FE college in the city and the largest FE college in Liverpool City Region. It offers the widest, most diverse vocational curriculum in the region and ranges from entry up to degree and post-graduate levels

and currently serves more than a third of all the 16-18 year olds in Liverpool and educates almost 12,000 learners each year, with all courses being delivered to the highest standard of learning. Staff at The City of Liverpool College are fundamental to help ensure the students at the college enjoy an experience like no other through gaining skills and being taught a diversity-rich curriculum which leaves students equipped with all they need to be

successful, both in their chosen career and beyond.To ensure that the colleges high standards of teaching, learning and assessment are ensured, we are looking for high quality applicant for the following role: Key Responsibilities

1.

To contribute fully to the mission and values statement of the College ensuring its effective implementation in all aspects of college life. 2.

To contribute to the College and curriculum area strategic objectives and to actively engage in the annual review. 3.

To be aware of national developments in subject area and update knowledge and skills on an annual basis. 4.

To plan, prepare and deliver high quality lessons to achieve effective management of the learning process. 5.

Plan and use a range of effective and appropriate teaching and learning techniques to engage and motivate students and encourage independence and student autonomy. 6.

Establish a purposeful and motivating learning environment where students feel safe, secure, confident, and valued. 7.

Establish and maintain procedures with students which promote and maintain appropriate behaviour, communication, and respect for others, while challenging discriminatory behaviour and attitudes. 8.

To set, mark and record work in accordance with College and School Assessment policies. 9.

To track all students’ progress and attendance in accordance with agreed College systems and policies 10

To provide a balance of appropriate teaching styles and learning experiences. 11

To be aware of external/internal assessment procedures and to play and appropriate part in their

implementation. 12.

Evaluate and improve own communication skills to maximise effective communication and overcome barriers. 13.

To liaise with Assistant Dean in contributing to the design of programmes and teaching approaches which will enable curriculum areas to achieve high standards and value added. 14.

To liaise with Assistant Dean and curriculum teams in contributing to the administration necessary to support the teaching, learning and assessment within the subject area. 15.

To work with colleagues with relevant expertise to identify and address additional Digital, English and Maths skills for development within the subject area. 16.

To review own professional development needs and to participate fully in future training and development. 17.

To communicate and consult with parents, carers and students including Parents’ Evening, Welcome Evenings, events, and open evenings. 18

To ensure that all students in the subject area comply with College’s policies and procedures. 19

To provide enrichment opportunities that are exciting, motivating and enhance the student experience. 20

To ensure learners are supported with a well prepared VLE and resources for independent study. 21.

A knowledge and appreciation of the different needs of learners and effective strategies to ensure all learners make progress.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Essential criteria: 1.

Educated to Level 6 e.g. Degree or equivalent in Business or related degree. 2.

Successful recent previous teaching experience with adults. 3.

Excellent computer literacy – ability to use the current IT programs of the College. 4.

Proven relevant experience of curriculum planning, development & delivery inManagement & Professional. 5.

Engaged and passionate about Continuing Professional Development. 6.

Minimum of Level 2 Literacy/Numeracy. 7.

High level of communication and interpersonal skills, an effective member of a

team 8.

Ability to set high standards for students, colleagues and for themselves. 9.

Strong understanding of the importance and impact of feedback on learner

performance 10.

Experience using ICT to support and enhance subject delivery. 11.

Outstanding teacher who is student centred Desirable criteria: 1.

A recognised Teaching qualification 2.

Knowledge and understanding gained from previous experience in delivering on BTEC

and A Level Programmes 3.

Experience and understanding of ALPS and value added as progress measures. 4.

Good understanding of curriculum development to meet the training needs of employers. 5.

Experience with awarding body verification and standardisation. 6.

Fluent speaking in any of the mentioned languages: Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Kurdish

Sorani, Tigrinya, Spanish, French or Portuguese
