Maintenance Engineer

Maintenance Engineer Cambridge Monday-Friday 7am-5pm + 1 in 4 Week Call Out Rota Our client is a leading food manufacturer that is part of a larger European Group. Due to an upcoming retirement within the engineering function, they are looking for a new multi-skilled maintenance engineer to join their close-knit team. Role & Responsibilities: Responsible for supporting PPMs and reactive maintenance across all site production & packaging machinery, site services & facilities. Electrical & mechanical fault finding, problem solving, and repairs. New machinery installations, project work. PLC – electrical fault finding. Experience with conveyors, mixers, baggers, production lines, packaging machinery, elevators, metal detectors, stitchers, labellers, scanners. Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Ideally, be a multi-skilled engineer. Must be comfortable working in a small team and flexible to working a call-out rota. Have completed a time-served apprenticeship. Strong electrical & mechanical fault finding skills. Must have previously worked in fast-paced manufacturing, ideally food / FMCG. Experience with PLC – electrical fault finding. Mechanical fabrication, fitting, and welding skills would be beneficial. Projects and continuous improvement experience. Must have worked with pneumatics & hydraulics. Ideally have a varied career and be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
