We are seeking a skilled

Field Service Maintenance Engineer

to join a global manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will have a background in Mechanical Engineering and be able to provide expert support and service for a range of tooling and assembly solutions technologies. This role requires travel within a 50-mile radius of Wolverhampton, with a company van or car provided.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough pre-delivery testing and inspections of tools and equipment to ensure they meet required specifications before delivery or site installation. Lead the installation and commissioning of new tooling and industrial assembly solutions at customer locations, ensuring compliance with customer requirements. Perform system testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure equipment operates to its full potential. Provide on-site support, including troubleshooting, problem resolution, and root cause analysis. Offer training and operational guidance to customers' staff during pilot phases. Undertake scheduled and ad-hoc preventative maintenance on all power tools, industrial assembly products, and related software solutions. Manage the calibration, testing, and certification processes for power tools to ensure compliance with industry standards. Work closely with project managers and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery. Report service activities and customer feedback to the Service Team Manager.

Experience and Qualifications:

Proven experience in a field service or maintenance role, ideally within the automotive industry or related sectors. Experience with industrial assembly solutions or power tools is highly desirable. Strong mechanical and electrical competence, with a solid understanding of PLCs and system integration. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively. A mechanical engineering qualification (HNC, HND, or equivalent) is essential. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong customer service focus and the ability to provide training and technical guidance. Ideally located in the Midlands. Full UK driving license required, as the role involves travel around the Midlands.
